McHie No Moore

I went to a wedding last weekend at Veritas Vineyard in Charlottesville! It was beautiful:)

Weather was perfect with cooler temps and low humidity, and the wedding reception was very fun! Love these ladies:)

I even got up on stage...(though I was told I was not invited). I still remain confident that I was! A sing along always means you can join on stage, right?

We finished our celebrations with a lawn brunch at UVA. Perfect way to end the weekend!

Congrats, Matt & Jess!

Wedding # 2 of 2015

In the midst of my pretty lazy weekend that involved some pool time, front desk working, a long run, and hanging out on front porches with friends, I got to celebrate the wedding of my friend Dara!

I met Dara through my good friend Sarah in high school. Our first memories together were at Sarah's Confirmation and Bat Mitzvah and also our many trips to Cheeburger:) Dara was an awesome shopping and eating out buddy who also has a great love of sports! She was great at including me and my friends into her big friend group. We especially had many great memories during college when we were home for breaks and an entire summer of us and our friends all working at the same restaurant and hanging out every night:)

This is from May 2006 when we watched Sarah's little sis, Erin, go to her Senior Prom!
The ceremony and reception were at the Hotel John Marshall, which is not actually a hotel, but now is a residential building in downtown Richmond. It was built in the 1920's, though, so it is very elegant and when it was restored they kept a lot of the charm of the past century!

This is my second Sunday wedding, and I would have taken off most of Monday except I am leaving for two weeks on Wednesday and feel bad taking even more time. That being said, I definitely had fun-> I just wish I could have stayed a little longer and been able to sleep in more this morning!

Not paying attention per usual.

Old friends!
Even though I didn't actually go to high school with her and a lot of my friends at the wedding, it felt like a mini-high school reunion! It will be sad when these weddings no longer happen because I won't get to see people as much or in a big group. I had some moments of realization about that last night- it is exciting and sad as life moves on.

But it was a fun night! Congrats to Dara and Tim!

Silent Sunday from St. Augustine, Florida

Awesome weather, awesome Air B&B house, awesome people, and an awesome wedding! Weekends with these friends show how as much as things change, so much stays the same. Congrats to Brandy and Dustin!

The Millman's

Happy Monday!

I had a great time in NYC this weekend at the Millman wedding and exploring on my own and with friends! I feel like I got a good sense of what living in the city would be like since I was staying by myself in my friend's apartment, and it was enjoyable! They live in an area I like and could afford, whereas the areas I REALLY like are much more expensive:)

I walked around Times' Square and Rockefeller Plaza on Friday night and grabbed dinner to go (I totally see how people always eat out in NYC- so many great options close by!)

Gotta see my favorite area!
Saturday morning I went on a run around Gramercy, Alphabet City, Stuyvesant Village (cool area!) and the East Side. Temps were great! Then I met up with Sarah and Zack and their uncle David for lunch at Katz's Deli (from 'When Harry Met Sally") and we walked around the West Village, Hudson Square, Greenwich Village, NYU, and Chelsea. I love the lower side of Manhattan.

Gorgeous Day
The wedding was at 6 on Saturday evening, and it was great! We got served champagne before the ceremony and it was a great set-up of a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing! I went home exhausted and more than a bit intoxicated:) The apartment was only 5 blocks from the wedding, so an easy walk!

Great couple!
Happy girl:)

I concluded my stay with a brief run on Sunday before heading out on the train at noon. I got back into Richmond around 6 and had time to get myself ready for the start of the week:) I love traveling by myself, and now have a few more trip ideas up my sleeve:)

Congrats to Emily and Michael!

RIC -> NYC

Hey there!

I arrived in NYC just a little bit ago. I am here for a friend's wedding. I have known Miss Emily since 9th grade and we went to UVA together! I remember many a snow days where I camped out at her house and the great parties she had. She has awesome parents, too! I am excited to be celebrating this special occasion with her! I am staying at my friend's apartment who live only a few blocks from the wedding in Manhattan, but sadly her and her fiance have to go out of town for the weekend so it is just me and the cat :)! What else is new, huh?

Ems and I during college:)
I took the train up from Richmond, which is an easy 6 hour ride. I even got to do some school work and met a great group who were also heading up for another wedding. It was an enjoyable trip! I love the amount of room you have on trains :) I also love how I can walk to where I am staying from the train station. My goal whenever I go to NYC is to walk everywhere, because you see so much that way!

Productive traveling!
I will be exploring the city on my own this evening and am meeting up with my friend Sarah and her husband tomorrow! Have a great start to your weekend. I'm off to explore:)

#somerslovin

I had a great weekend in Duck (Outer Banks), celebrating the soon-to-be Mrs. Somers (aka Lauren Malakoff)!I have known Lauren since the end of high school and am so happy for her August wedding to a great guy! It was so wonderful to celebrate at the beach before the crowds of the beach season and when the weather was PERFECT (70's and no humidity)! I am so anxious to get back in a few weeks for the 4th of July:)

As is usually the case, pictures do the weekend more justice than my words, but it was a great weekend full of morning runs, days at the beach and pool, nights with good drinks & music (karaoke, anyone?), and of, course great (and lots of) food!

Out for drinks along the sound with the bride-to-be!

Fun ladies!

My love, Sarah Rose.
