Early Christmas Gift

Nothing like a day of laziness to get myself in the Christmas spirit! Yesterday, after a busy weekend and out of town short trip, I was EXHAUSTED. I rarely have a day of nothing because I usually can't stand to sit still, but I stayed in my sweatpants all day yesterday (well, until 6 PM when I had a condo association meeting) and watched too much TV. My friend and I were scheduled to meet up, but we both felt too lazy, so we just texted. #firstworldproblems

After my morning run (yes, I did do that at least), Santa aka Amazon came to my door with an AWESOME Christmas gift- a Roku!

Now I can watch Netflix on my TV! Score. Perfect for my lazy day and super-easy to set up. Thanks to my bro and sis-in-law!

I hung out with this cutie on the couch all day. He is an awesome snuggle buddy.

I watched 90210 (Christmas episode marathon) and The X Files...David Duchovny, why won't you love me? Any fans know what season this picture is from?

I feel much better today in terms of energy. I think I needed a day to rest from my increased running, traveling and busy holiday schedule. Socializing is exhausting even for an extrovert. I will head over to my parents this afternoon for a low-key Christmas. Just us this Christmas as my brothers are with their in-laws. Adulthood changes things! I am excited for a visit to the National Harbor this weekend, though,

Merry Christmas!!!

Snow Day

In what will undoubtedly be the last snow day of the 2012-2013 school year, I felt the need to document what I do when I unexpectedly get the day off due to rain/sleet/ice/snow. It has definitely changed since when I was a kid!

5:40- Wake up and go to my complex's gym (school's not canceled yet!)

6:30- School gets called while I'm on the elliptical watching the news! Yay!

7:00- Shower

7:15- Fiber One Cereal for breakfast- a luxury as I usually drink a Slimfast at work!

7:30- Plop down on the couch for morning TV viewing and internet surfing

8:30- Nap...it's a tough life b/c I still got up early

9:30- Continue with more TV (mostly news and talk shows) and hair blow-drying.
*I WOULD have a good hair day when I am not going any where*

11:30- Venture outside to clean off my car and walk with a neighbor to a local pharmacy down the street. COLD and WINDY.

12:00- Lunch of whole wheat peanut butter toast, pretzels, an apple and carrots.
Healthy fats, grains, carbs, fruits and veggies. #Yum

1:15- Car service shop to get two new tires. Yup, even more money going into my car this winter...lame!! I read a lot of my book while there.

3:30- Once home, I have to clean up water pooling on my passenger side floor with a vaccum and towels. I am hoping this was just from the mechanic working on the car and not a new leak:(

3:45- Laundry due to dirty towels and more TV ("Giuliana and Bill" marathon!)

5:30- Bake a frittata for dinner with broccoli, cheese and egg whites

Mine actually looked like the pic below but SO GOOD and HEALTHY (and a little UVA shout out)!

6:30- Make lunch/dinner for tomorrow (soccer scrimmage after work so I won't be home until 8ish) and lay out clothes

7:00- Watch "This Is 40"

10:00- Bed

Pretty exciting day, huh? I love the ability to nap, catch up on errands/chores and just chill out for a day! It is especially better for me now that I live in the city and the roads are always clear so I can get out and about:) Hopefully, though, my car issues do not continue as I have almost put in $1,000 in the past 3 months!

Lazy Weekend

You know your life has changed when you go to bed before 11 pm on Friday and Saturday night and not only are totally ok with it, but wish you could do it more often. That is the type of weekend I have had. My parents were visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Texas, and since my cat, Milo, has feline diabetes, someone has to be home to give him shots around 7 am and 7 pm each day. So my weekend was pretty much dictated by my cat. Cat lady status rules.

All kidding aside, it was a pretty great weekend, because I did nothing. I worked at my school's football game Friday night and saw a movie with a friend last light ("50/50"- go see it, very good) and besides one trip to the grocery store and another to Starbucks, I barely left the couch. I saw 8 episodes of "Friday Night Lights," watched "Scream 4" on demand, baked cookies, read, painted my nails, and slept. I *did* have two great runs Saturday and Sunday morning (5 miles and 4 miles respectively), so I wasn't lazy allll weekend. But I was pretty close.

After the excitement of last weekend, this weekend was definitely needed. I could do it many more weekends, but life is pretty busy until Thanksgiving! So I will enjoy my next lazy weekend when it comes. And I do realize that this type of weekend is a sign that I am getting older. Late twenties- you should be interesting...

Happy last week of October!

**Also- did you notice that I posted almost every day last week?! I was trying to do a post a day for a week, but I didn't post yesterday:( It's not like I was doing anything to keep myself from posting...I just couldn't think of anything to say! I will have to try a week-post-a-thon again soon!
